Some of Our Aircraft The DVHAA is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to the preservation and display of the aviation history of the Delaware Valley. Members work year-round collecting and restoring vintage aircraft, artifacts and memorabilia. We have a top notch research facility, including thousands of books, technical documents, magazines, still and motion pictures, and other media. The DVHAA also contributes material to a variety of printed as well as electronic media outlets.

Access to our Wings of Freedom museum is from the parking lot located a 1/4 mile south of the NAS JRB Willow Grove main gate on Rt. 611 in Horsham Pa.Visitors should not attempt to enter the base. Admission is free and photography is encouraged. Group tours should be scheduled through the DVHAA Tour Director.

The DVHAA Museum Gift Shop is a perfect way to suprise the aviation enthusiast in your family. Visit the gift shop during museum hours to see the large selection of die-cast toys, models, clothing, and aviation art available for sale.

Our Spring 2009 Profiles in Aviation lecture series has been completed. Watch this space for our next exciting series. The following are examples of our recent lecture topics.

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009, 7:00 p.m.
DR. MICHAEL ZIMMERMAN, M.D., Adjunct Professor of Biology, Villanova University: Dr. Zimmerman is a pathologist, anthropologist, and internationally recognized expert in the study of ancient mummies. When the History Channel produced a program on the mummified remains of the crew of the "Lady Be Good," a WWII B-24 Liberator lost in the Libyan desert, he was asked to participate and we will see excerpts of two of the History Channel programs.

Tuesday, April 14th, 2009, 7:00 p.m.
JANE BIRCH, Author: Will discuss her award-winning book "They Flew Proud," which tells the story of the national Civilian Pilot Training Program (CPTP) founded in the 1930s. Across the U.S., more than 435,000 men and women were taught to fly under the CPTP; these cadets then went on to serve their nation during WWII.

Tuesday, May 19th, 7:00 p.m.
CAPT. DAVID OPATZ (USN) Commander of Willow Grove NAS-JRB: will talk about his experiences in the Navy and his path to becoming base commander. Captain Opatz flew the E-2C Hawkeye in deployments to the Mediterranean, and in counter drug operations in the Caribbean.
